High-quality surgical and obstetric care
UNICHIR is building a new high-quality surgical and obstetric centre in the Beni region.
The work began in March 2021. The centre opened on 10 June 2023.
Caring for the planet concerns us all, so we took a sustainable approach for the new centre. The special roof construction allows for natural air circulation, so we avoid energy-consuming air conditioning. We also had our own well drilled. And our green electricity comes from a hydroelectric power plant. These adjustments help us to reduce our ecological footprint.
Our partners also appealed to locals, recruiting dozens of people from the neighbourhood to work on the project.
